HIPS charity golf day
Woodlands Manor was the venue for the inaugural HIPS golf day.
Heavy early morning downpours looked ominous but the gloomy conditions soon cleared and following a hearty breakfast 16 golfers (and one caddy) set out to try and do justice to a course in excellent condition.
The individual winner with a creditable 38 points was Matt Ward. There was a tie for second place on 36 points between Rich Cornhill and Mike Newton .
The deadlock was broken by a thrilling sudden death ‘putt off’, won by Rich.
Alan Cannon with his trusty 5 wood won the longest drive and Jonathan Hart picked up the nearest the pin prize.
